Art lives in South Philadelphia with his wife and children. As a member of Circle of Hope, a community of faith in Philadelphia and New Jersey, he is often involved in activism to promote the dignity and health of people in the city.
Art, who is a Social Worker, was on his morning bicycle commute. His failure to come to a complete stop at the intersection of 16th and Fitzwater caught the attention of an officer in his patrol car. While Art admits that he was in the wrong for his “Philly Slide,” his actions didn’t warrant the officer’s aggressive response.
